MegaConvention bound…

Zach here with a short announcement: HeadGames Entertainment will be making their presence known in the Exhibit Hall of the Orange County Convention Center (Hall D) for MegaCon 2010.
Like last year, we will continue to provide the quality amusement you’ve come to expect from us. Of particular note are the Star Command Pilot Episodes (Special Edition) DVD and Star Command Shorts Volume 1 DVD that we’re pretty proud of (and still makes us laugh after hours upon hours of tedious editing and handcrafting, so that’s saying something!). Also available are the long-sought HeadGames Entertainment ringer t-shirts (white with blue trim) and the smokin-hot Many Deaths of Crewman Cipher t-shirt (version 1.0). To further expand our selection of Star Command geegaws, we have the official Star Command insignia badge and your very own pair of foam latex Alticaron horn ridges, perfect for starting that Star Command live-action RPG we all know is secretly in development somewhere… <_< >_>
Fear, bitches. Then grab a free comic and a button. Then be in awe.
Post-Nooga Greetings

A hearty welcome to all of you who discovered us (or re-discovered us) at Con-Nooga this past weekend. Many warm thank you’s are due to the convention staff, as well as the many exhibitors and wandering geeks we were happy to schmooze with and entertain throughout the event. (I don’t even remember how I got back to my room Saturday night.) As we’re continuing to add content to the site and arrange in a pleasing manner, pay no attention to the crewmen strewn about…I promise you, they are sleeping. That’s right, sleeping.
Here’s some of the ways you can get more involved, right now:
- Spread the word! We’re excited about what we have coming up in the next couple of months, and want to make sure as many people know about it as possible. If you picked up our comic, share it with a friend! If you bought our DVD, watch it with others! If you bought a “Many Deaths of Crewman Cipher” shirt, honor his constantly-renewable memory by equipping it on your torso slot!
- Casting Information! Be sure to click the “Cast” button at the upper right to see about possible roles and positions that we’ll be looking to fill in the future, or if you want to offer yourself up as an expendable crewman/extra.
- Twitter Feed! Did you know the crew of the USS Lee keeps a journal? It’s true! Follow your favorites by subscribing to this list.
- Ask Mr. Borock! Your mostly-reliable dual-brained XO is waiting to lay the serious learning smackdown on you. Send your Star-Command-science-and-technology-and-culture-related questions to askmrborock@starcommandseries.com, and perhaps your question will one day be answered in an upcoming edition of the feature!

Creator Blog #5: D*Con and Beyond!
Posted on: September 10, 2009Comments are off for this post
Another DragonCon has come and gone. Being from Atlanta, most of the Star Command Crew has been attending DragonCon in some form or another since the mid-90s. This year was the first year we’ve ever had a product to promote, and it’s certainly a different experience from behind the table. My first D*C experience was in 1997, and even that far back I’ve wondered what it’s like to be an exhibitor. Well, now I know: it’s amazing. We saw a lot of pretty awesome cosumes, gave out hundreds of fliers, comics, and buttons, and generally had a blast meeting a lot of interesting people. It was exhausting, but worth every minute.
If you’re on Facebook, check out our Star Command Group [here] Invite your friends! We’ll also have an official Facebook fan page up soon, so keep an eye out for that, as well.
Don’t forget our Twitter feeds for the bridge crew! Or, if you’d rather get your tweets in convenient digest form, just head [here]to get them all in chronological order.
We’re moving full speed ahead to bring you more Star Command over the next few months. Keep watching this space!

Creator’s Blog 4: Conventions and More Conventions!

OK so the bit where I said I was going to update this more…well I didn’t lie so much as bend the truth in an interesting angle. But the big news for this month is that Star Command will be attending Dragon*Con in Atlanta GA over the Labor Day holiday (9/4-9/7). We will be recuiting new members for the USS Lee and giving away tons of free stuff. Come check us out if you’re at the convention!
Working at a convention is always an experience. Hours of boredom punctuated by flurries of activity. Comraderie with your fellow table-holders, and more than a few “What The Hell Was That?” moments. HGE and Star Command have had the priviledge of working several different-sized conventions from the very small to the very large and it’s been a blast all around. I’m really excited to see what Dragon*Con will bring.
